After a long deserved break in live performances and recording, The Blues Cats have reunited to bring their unique sound back with a vengeance.

An eclectic sound based on the blues tradition, breaking new ground with a new interpretation of that tradition. The Blues Cats original material mixes rock, jazz, and fusion with the blues to create a unique sound all their own.

Covers include traditional, contemporary, and progressive blues artists such as KoKo Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Susan Tedeschi, Melissa Etherage, Sheryl Crow, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Pat Benatar, Heart, Joe Bonamassa, Chris Cain, Buddy Miles, and Robben Ford. The Blues Cats also include in their sets hard driving, deep felt blues originals.

Past performances include opening for national acts such as Three Dog Night, Ruth Brown, BTO, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Smithereens, as well as being the festival opener for the tenth annual Elizabeth River Blues Festival.

The group performed at the 1997 Cape Fear Blues Festival in Wilmington, NC, placing second in the blues talent search. The Blues Cats were selected out of over 1,000 entries to perform a showcase set at the 1998 NEA Extravaganza in Nashville, TN. , where a local radio station selected their original song to play on the air. The group has also played many local and regional establishments such as Goodfella’s, The Jewish Mother, Medley’s, Manhattan’s, J.M.Randall’s, Jullian’s, Second Street, as well as festivals such as The Hampton Bay Days, Newport New’s Midtown Midweek, Blues at the Beach, Town Point Park and Mill Point events. The Blues Cats were proud to be involved in many events hosted by The Natchel Blues Network. The band completed an all original CD titled IT AIN’T EASY and began working on their second. The Blues Cats remain as one of the most recognizable bands in the area with a huge fan base mailing list and look forward to performing again in their 2008 "Come Back"!
